Sometimes, the best way to secure a win in Ranked Play is by using a sniper rifle, and you won’t find one better than the SP-X 80 in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Even in Season 2, the weapon still has deadly accuracy, incredibly fast ADS time, and a decent hitbox for one-shot kills.
Compared to other options, the SP-X 80 will leave more hit markers. However, with the way that players use cover in Ranked Play and with quick accuracy, the hit markers will be few and far between. Our guide will cover all the attachments you need to out-snipe all of your opponents.
COD MW2 Ranked Play – Best SP-X 80 Loadout
Nearly every sniper rifle in Modern Warfare 2 needs to be built for accuracy and mobility. Unlike Warzone, we aren’t worried about taking enemies out one mile away or dealing with any recoil. We want our bolt action shots to be faster than the blink of an eye, and all the attachments to do so are listed below.
SP-X 80 Ranked Play Loadout:
- Barrel: None or 18.5″ Bryson LR Factory
- Rear Grip: Schlager Match Grip
- Stock: PVZ-890 TAC Stock
- Bolt: FSS ST87 Bolt
- Optic: Standard or Optional
We’ll start with the two optional components of this class. If you can help it, you should really only use three attachments for the full loadout. However, there is room for a barrel and an optic if you really need them. The 18.5″ Bryson LR Factory barrel adds some extra ADS without hitting damage or mobility as much as the faster option. As for the optic, the standard is certainly the way to go, but sometimes, a different optic can play better for certain players.
Now for the real attachments, the Schlager Match Grip rear grip and the PVZ-890 TAC Stock are both used for their super fast mobility. ADS speed and sprint-to-fire time are integral to our SP-X 80 loadout, and it’s the reason we use this sniper over the MCPR-300.

The last attachment is the FSS ST87 Bolt. This piece simply increases the fire rate of the SP-X 80 in MW2 Ranked Play, allowing us to follow up on any shots we miss or go for a quick double kill. In no time, you’ll be the Search and Destroy king of Ranked Play in COD.
