Best Skills for Panette in Fire Emblem Engage

Give the goth ruffian a chance

Panette is one of the sleeper hits that you might look over. But you should really give her a chance. In her natural Berserker state, she’s capable of both absorbing damage and dealing it back at a much higher rather than her tankier brethren. But how can we make her even better? With skills, of course. Here are the best skills for Panette in Fire Emblem Engage.

Best Skills for Panette in Fire Emblem Engage

I’ll be upfront. I like Panette. She’s weird, quirky, and more than a little tacky, but I like her. But what warmed me to her in the first place is how very capable she is on the battlefield, quickly outpacing her wolf-riding sister, Merrin.

Panette is a natural Berserker, and you can read the number breakdown and argument for it in the related link below. In the role of Berserker, there are a handful of skills that really see her shine. They are:

  • Axe Power 5 (Emblem Ring Ike, Level 17): Grants Atk+10 at a cost of Avo-10 when using an axe.
  • Wrath (Emblem Ring Ike, Level 13): At the start of combat, for each HP the unit has lost, grants Crit+1 during combat. (Max +30)
  • Hold Out+++ (Emblem Ring Roy, Level 18): If unit had 2 HP or more at start of combat, unit always survives combat with at least 1 HP.
  • Vantage++ (Emblem Ring Leif, Level 18): If unit’s HP is 75% or less and foe initiates combat, unit can counter before foe’s first attack.

Each unit can inherit two skills and must rely on its Emblem Ring to provide the rest. Panette bonds most naturally with Emblem Ring Roy and Ike, as you can likely infer from her best skills. So, pick the skills of the Emblem Ring that Panette won’t be equipping.

If Emblem Ring Roy and Ike are committed to someone else and you have to choose only 2 skills from this list, I highly recommend Vantage++ and Axe Power 5. These two skills synergize to allow Panette hit first, fast, and hard, even with lower Speed. But it does mean that you’ll have to keep a healer somewhere in the periphery when her health is finally whittled into the red.
