What Perks to Choose in Death Must Die (December 2023)

The list below is based on my experience in the game (in the Early Access phase with 50 hours played and 100% achievements done). I’ve seen that some perks fit me better (and help me more) than others. As the game evolves, I will revisit this list and provide changes if necessary.

Not all perks are immediately unlockable, so you’ll have to make do with what you’ve got in some situations.

Best Avoron Perks in Death Must Die

  1. The Sign of The Chosen One – Periodical Invulnerability is something most players will be fond of.
  2. The Sign of The Disciple – This gives the most variety to choose from
  3. The Sign of The Hero – Avoron lacks damage, and I like this perk, but there are better ways to increase your damage by significantly more percent.
  4. The Sign of The Cat – I think this imposes an unnecessary challenge on the player.
  5. The Sign of The Guardian – Avoron is tanky enough, and you can just go for Evasion and Life skills instead and actually dodge most of the attacks.

Best Kront Perks in Death Must Die

  1. The Sign of The Meteor – If you are skilled enough, you won’t get hit anyway, and the armor bonus you can extract out of this perk can be astronomical.
  2. The Sign of The Tornado – AoE Good.
  3. The Sign of The Tsunami – Crit is kinda cool.
  4. The Sign of The Earthquake – Barriers are not problematic to deal with.
  5. The Sign of The Mountain – This imposes an unnecessary challenge on the player.

Best Merris Perks in Death Must Die

  1. The Sign of The Summoner – Summons are OP, especially if you get an item that provides you with a summon.
  2. The Sign of The Hydra – Plus two projectiles will serve you well early.
  3. The Sign of Timespace – Infinite Pull Range is cool. You do not miss any XP.
  4. The Sign of The Helper – Aimbot is a great thing to have, but later it becomes irrelevant when you start pouring infinite amounts of damage everywhere.
  5. The Sign of Fire – +80% Spell Damage is not worth the perk slot.

Best Nixi Perks in Death Must Die

  1. The Sign of The Thread – Execute perk will make things really easy for you.
  2. The Sign of The Grasshopper – More movement bursts are great to have.
  3. The Sign of The Rabbit – Increasing your Luck brings benefits.
  4. The Sign of The Thief – Good at the start, but at some point, you stop needing the loot.
  5. The Sign of The Viper – The God of Time (and two more) give you better attack speed boosts.

Best Skadi Perks in Death Must Die

  1. The Sign of the Apprentice – Building up skills faster is great.
  2. The Sign of the Beast – Summons are better than you think.
  3. The Sign of the Lizard – Sustainability of this magnitude is not to be neglected.
  4. The Sign of the Cosmos – Various on-hit proc effects can produce some really weird interactions.
  5. The Sign of the Wyvern – I do not know about you, but I have enough Movement Speed from my items. I never felt the need to use this perk.
