Apex Legends is a popular battle royale hero shooter that you can play for free on many platforms. Respawn Entertainment, known for the Titanfall series and one great Star Wars single player game, has released Apex Legends on many platforms including PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and even Nintendo Switch – and in March 2022, versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S finally arrived.
Although many would argue that the first-person shooter requires a mouse and keyboard, it is clear that a huge number of players enjoy this game on consoles – so if you prefer a controller, see the guide below for the best controller settings for Apex Legends.
What are the Best Controller Settings for Apex Legends?
To optimize your Apex Legends experience on a controller, set everything up as follows:
Setting | Option to set |
Interact / Reload Button | Tap to Use and Reload |
Look Sensitivity | 4 |
Look Sensitivity [ADS] | 3 |
Response Curve | Fine Aim |
Look Deadzone | Small |
Movement Deadzone | Small |
Also be sure to set these options too, in the game settings.
Setting | Option to set |
Crosshair Damage Feedback | X w/Shield Icon |
Damage Numbers | Stacking |
Jetpack Control | Hold |
Cross-Platform Play * | Disabled (if on console) |
By shutting down Cross-Platform Play, you eliminate the possibility of PC players ruining your game with the additional advantage they have on the mouse and keyboard, so for the maximum fair experience in Apex Legends, we recommend turning off this option if you play on a console. And, if you play on a PC with a controller – good luck!
The settings we posted above will help you get the most out of the controller so you will have at least a better fighting chance to try and show keyboard and mouse players how it’s done.
