Does Apex Legends Have Cross Progression? Answered

Apex Legends is up there with Fortnite and Call of Duty: Warzone in terms of battle royale popularity. It is available on PC, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and Android and iOS platforms with their mobile version. But does Apex Legends have cross-progression? Here’s everything you need to know.

Is Cross-Progression in Apex Legends?

Unfortunately, players who want to enjoy the game on different platforms cannot carry their progression over as Apex Legends does not have cross-progression. At least for now. But that’s not to say it won’t ever happen…

You can’t load up your Apex Legends rank, profile, Legend unlocks, skins, or cosmetics on another platform. The only thing that you can do is change between the Origin launcher and Steam on PC, where your data can be loaded over between the two whenever.

Another thing to note is that the crossplay system is different from competitors since PC players will only still be placed against other PC players and console players can only battle other console players.

The reason behind the lack of a cross-progression feature is that Apex Legends for PC and other platforms are different games and there isn’t an easy way to link them together.

Will Apex Legends Ever Have Cross-Progression?

Fortunately, not all hope is lost. Since many players have demanded cross-progression, Respawn Entertainment is working on a solution to make life much easier for those who wish to change the platform without losing their data.

Unfortunately, an ETA is yet to be revealed but it is expected to happen sometime in 2022. The game’s main competitor, Fortnite, already has a cross-progression feature, so Apex Legends is still a bit behind the massively played battle royale.
