Cleric is the most popular character in Halls of Torment due to their high damage output on singular targets, leaving other players feeling discouraged by comparison. However, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. Those big numbers can drop significantly if Cleric isn’t built properly. What’s a “proper” build for Cleric, anyway? Well, it depends on your playstyle, but I’m here to bring you what I think is the best build for Cleric in Halls of Torment.
Top Damage Build for Cleric in Halls of Torment
To tell you the absolute truth, I tried it all. Small cones, big cones, small range, big range, and I have witnessed all of the results that come out of those choices.

Here are the best traits, items, and abilities for Cleric in Halls of Torment, in my opinion:
Best Traits for Cleric in Halls of Torment
It’s important to prioritize Attack Speed, as it improves ballistic damage output for Clerics. In addition, Multihit and raw Damage increases are beneficial, followed by Critical Strike bonuses. While defenses may be overlooked, health regeneration is a must-have. For ranged combat, some points in range are recommended to kite bosses effectively, but expanding cone is unnecessary. Movement is also important for dodging boss attacks.
Best Items for Cleric in Halls of Torment
For the head slot, the Wind Crown is one of the best items in the game right now. Late-game, you will have a constant bonus of 50% attack speed.
For the necklace slot, the Jade Amulett is brilliant because it gives you +50% XP gain. Alternatively, the Collar of Confidence is also a good choice as it provides +50% Power.
For gloves, I personally use Thornfist Gloves because they are literally a touch of death for anyone that lays their hands on you. They are so overpowered that I willingly allow the boss to hit me if I run a tankier build because I know the retribution will be almost 100 times bigger. If you want to further the Collar of Confidence effectiveness, go for Longfinger Gloves. Or just get the attack speed gloves.
For the chest, I prefer Blood-Soaked Shirt because it gives so much lifesteal long-term.
As for boots, I do not have any preference. If I want a movement speed build, I’ll boost my movement speed. If I want to be tanky, I’ll get something to further that goal. Anything works, basically.
For rings, I use Seal of Rebirth and Echoing Band. Other rings can be used for various builds, so check out your stash.
