Now, the game has been pushed back to “late 2021” although an exact release date has yet to be shared. While you wait for Security Breach, Cawthon has something else for you to play called Security Breach: Fury’s Rage.

Cawthon Announces FNAF Security Breach Delay

Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach has been delayed from early 2021 to late 2021 according to developer Scott Cawthon. On Reddit, Cawthon explained the reason behind the delay, noting they’ve, “Made the decision to put more time and money into it to make sure it’s finished properly.”

“Hey everyone, so here is your big Security Breach news for the week. As you all know, Security Breach was originally planned to come out at the end of 2020, but as we kept working on it and kept adding to it, it just kept getting bigger and bigger and needed more time to finish.

And now, again, I’ve made the decision to put more time and money into it to make sure it’s finished properly, and that means a late 2021 release instead of an early 2021 release like I had originally wanted. It will be worth it!”

Cawthon goes on to say they didn’t want gamers to “walk away empty handed” before offering up a link to a brand new game called Security Breach: Fury’s Rage. The game is a free-to-play sidescroller beat em’ up available right now on Game Jolt.

In the description, Security Breach: Fury’s Rage is described as follows:

“Just to be clear right off the bat, this game is called FURY’S Rage, NOT Furry’s Rage. So just get that straight. This is a game about unbridled anger and hostility, GOT IT???

As with all things related to Five Nights at Freddy’s, players are already trying to see whether Fury’s Rage has any lore embedded within it, or clues about the content of Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach. We’d be lying if we said we weren’t also curious about this, and yes, we’ve downloaded the game and can confirm it’s a lot of fun to play.

We aren’t certain about lore connections or teases, but at the very least, Fury’s Rage is fun as heck to play. It’s also awesome that Cawthon provided the game to tide players over until Security Breach is released later this year.

After hearing about the delay, and the new game released called Security Breach: Fury’s Rage, what are your thoughts? Are you sad the game is delayed, or happy that more stuff is being added to it?

What about Fury’s Rage, are you enjoying it so far? Let us know on our social media channels including Facebook and Twitter, and stay tuned for more Five Nights at Freddy’s coverage in the (hopefully) near future!
