The Breach were Treated like any Other Boston Team In the CDL Major II

Another teams makes it in Boston.

For the first time since the Boston Breach was introduced into the Call of Duty League, they hosted a top-tier Major tournament on the same street as the home of the Boston Red Sox. The venue they used is brand new and the area for the MW2 Major II is full of sports history.

The shoes that the Boston Breach is filling with the CDL Major II are massive and there aren’t a lot of fan bases that are more passionate about their teams than Boston. That leaves a lot of pressure for an Esports team, and it could have gone either way on February 2, 2023. However, the city came through and the Boston Breach received the same support that the other legendary teams in the city receive.

CDL Major II – How Were the Boston Breach Treated in their First Home Matches?

As soon as the Major II tickets went on sale, the majority of the seats sold out within days. These aren’t just Call of Duty League fans that are buying out these tickets and making their way to the city. No, a ton of the spectators at the event were pure Boston fans wearing Red Sox and Patriots gear. If it wasn’t an OpTic or a Breach jersey, then it was a Bruins hat to top off their outfit.

Not only were the Boston sports fans out in droves, but the vocal support was also off the charts in the MGM Music Hall for the Major II. The Breach and Methodz had the most cheering in their matches by far, which is impressive when FaZe and OpTic are in the same tournament. Even Shotzzy of OpTic wasn’t confident that their team had any cheers after knocking the Boston Breach out of the Major II on Saturday.

The Breach was the one team that brought the whole crowd together, and it was clear that fans in the city treated this team like they would any other. With the green and black squad out of the tournament, fans became fractured and the cheers were muffled in comparison. For a team that is still so young and who wasn’t expected to make it to the end of Saturday, they might have had more support at home than any other CDL team could hope for.
