It’s been a hot minute since we’ve learned anything new about Marvel’s Avengers, which made this new one-hour presentation a delight for those still on the fence about the upcoming comic adaptation. While the movies were a big hit, the upcoming game from Crystal is more rooted in the comic series that spawned the blockbuster franchise and it’s because of that source material that there is so much to explore within this Avengers setup.

Today’s showcase focused heavily on how the co-op War Zone missions work in-game that allows for up to four players to get into the game together, or fly solo on their own with AI support. Before each mission, players can make sure their loadout and aesthetic (with skins) are on point before diving into questlines that further explore what these characters are made of and what they contribute to the bigger picture.

During the showcase, the story missions and co-op experiences were shared to show an open-world-esque environment that is divvied up into smaller sections depending on the specific mission. In this particular viewing, To Tame a Titan was the primary focus, showing off the various combat mechanics and personal touches that will be felt during this particular objective.

Crystal also showed off several skins, including a shiny new Thor look, in addition to a confirmation of a few other styles making their way into the game and, of course, Hulkbuster. Marvel’s Avengers is confirmed to add new heroes and missions post-launch, something they’ve previously mentioned as well, ensuring that this experience is ever-expanding for players to enjoy.

Marvel’s Avengers is slated for a September 4 launch for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, and PC players. Thoughts on the most recent showcase? Sound off with them over on Twitter @PrimaGames!
