Dead Island 2 Foreman’s Key Location Guide

In Dead Island 2, you’ll come across plenty of unique items and gear hidden in chests. While these chests may be easy to spot, they’re usually locked. Luckily, they’ll indicate which specific key you need. One of these is the Foreman’s key, which is required to unlock a safe containing a rare mod. In this guide, I’ll explain where to find and how to use the Foreman’s key in Dead Island 2.

How to Get Foreman’s Key in Dead Island 2

The Foreman’s key can be found by defeating a unique zombie called “The Site Foreman”. This is a mutator zombie and you will find this roaming in the construction zone southwest from Rikky’s House.

Mutators initially appear as regular Walkers, identifiable by their bald heads, shirtless torsos, and green pants. When they detect the player or hear a loud sound, they transform into towering monsters, developing an open chest cavity and a sharp bone club on their left arm. While mutating, they are briefly invulnerable, giving players a moment to create some distance. So, when you spot one, try to eliminate it as soon as possible. Ranged weapons and landing headshots will be the safe bet here in killing The Site Foreman mutator zombie.

However, you should know that this zombie may not appear for you until you have completed the 21st main mission in Dead Island 2 called The Search for Truth. In this mission, you will be introduced to the mutator zombie for the first time, and after completing it, you will randomly find mutator zombies, even the named ones in the game’s world. If you happen to be at the construction site looking for The Site Foreman before completing the 21st mission, you will not see the named zombie there yet.

Once The Site Foreman zombie is killed, it will drop the Foreman’s Key in Dead Island 2.

Where to Use Foreman’s Key in Dead Island 2

After getting the Foreman’s Key, head inside the under-construction building. Take the spiral-style stairs that lead you to the first floor and go inside the first room on your right, and you will find the Construction Team’s Safe. Using the Foreman’s Key on the Construction Team’s Safe will give you a Superior Melee Impactor Mod.
