Too many drop locations, but to little drops...

Where to Get Highly-Concentrated Energy Residue in The First Descendant

Highly-Concentrated Energy Residues drop from almost all mission monsters in the Hagios region. Here’s a list of all the missions they can drop from (mission monster and not a main mission reward):

  • Vulgus Blockade
  • Ally Retreat Route
  • Ransacked Village
  • Crimson Contaminated Area
  • Deep Digger
  • Large Supply Transport Point
  • Ruins Modification Base
  • Cargo Management Zone
  • Broadband Fleet Beacon
  • Antiaircraft Defensive Position
  • The Passage to the Ruins
  • Ancient Quantum Facility
  • Tethered Energy Position
  • Ruins Guard Facility
  • The Haven (Infiltration Operation)
  • Old Mystery (Infiltration Operation)

That’s a long list, but these rare materials usually drop from elite commanders from these missions. They have a low drop rate; even if they drop, you only get one or two pieces. However, these Highly-Concentrated Energy Residues also drop from Encrypted Vaults in Hagios. They can drop on normal or hard difficulties from either Encrypted Vaults or the mission monsters from the list above.

Best Way to Farm Highly-Concentrated Energy Residue

The best way to farm these Highly-Concentrated Energy Residues is through finding Encrypted Vaults in Hagios and resetting the instance by switching difficulty or battlefields. You’ll find an Encrypted Vault near one of the waypoints in the image above.

These vaults don’t have a 100% chance of spawning, but in the red circle on the image above, you’ll find a holographic icon on the ground, which means there’s an Encrypted Vault that could spawn in the area.

Use your Ecive Scan to check if you hear a pinging sound and if there’s one nearby. If not, you can either reset or run north to look for more Encrypted Vaults. I suggest using Bunny if you want to run more.

What Are Highly-Concentrated Energy Residues Used For?

Highly-Concentrated Energy Residue crafts the following items:

ProductHighly-concentrated Energy Residue Needed
Restored Relic Nano Tube8
Enduring Legacy Synthetic Fiber Blueprint8
Secret Garden Polymer Syncytium Blueprint8
Lepic Enhanced Cells34

The amount of materials needed to craft these items is lower than usual than other rare materials like Balanced Plasma Batteries. Nevertheless, Ultimate Weapons require multiple crafts because you want to enhance the weapon’s unique ability to improve its effects. You’ll definitely need to farm a lot of Highly-Concentrated Energy Residues if you want to max out these Ultimate weapons or unlock Lepic.
