What would Drakedog say about this?

Season of Discovery is a breath of fresh air for many WoW Classic players as it finally brings new content to unlock. If you’re a Warlock, you probably want to know how to get the Chaos Bolt in WoW SoD, so here’s what you need to do.

Where to Find Chaos Bolt Rune in World of Warcraft: Season of Discovery

Depending on which race you’ve picked to play for your Warlock character, you will have to walk to a different spot on the map. Luckily, these are all in the starting areas, so you won’t need to get far.

All Warlock Chaos Bolt Rune Locations in WoW SoD

  • Undead (Forsaken) – Unfreeze the Frozen Murloc at the northwest part of the shore of Brightwater Lake in Tirisfal Glades. Coordinates: 65, 40.
  • Orcs – You will see a house east of Razor Hill in Durotar (when you look at the map, directly east from the word “Hill”) and in the house, unfreeze the Frozen Makrura. Coordinates: 60, 45
  • Humans – Unfreeze the Frozen Murlock on the eastern shore of an island in Stone Cairn Lake, located in the northeastern section of Elwynn Forest. Coordinates: 75, 50
  • Gnomes – Unfreeze the Frozen Trogg in the middle of Gol’Bolar Quarry in the southeastern part of Dun Morogh, next to a few trees on a snowy patch of ground. Coordinates: 70, 60

If possible, I recommend you party up with other Warlocks and Mages. Ensure you summon your Imp as they deal Fire damage, and you will need Fire damage to unfreeze the ice blocks. And remember, if someone waited and helped you, wait for the next spawn and help them because it takes time to melt ice. It’s how you build a proper community.

Here’s what Chaos Bolt does, according to the in-game description:

Chaos Bolt always hits, cannot be resisted, and its knowledge causes all your Fire spells to pierce through absorption effects. Chaos Bolt gains a high chance to be resisted when used against monsters four or more levels above your level.
