Minecraft is so popular that the main survival/creative game has already spawned numerous other spin-offs that are inspired by the famous blocky world and its rules. The last in the line is Minecraft Legends, a Minecraft-style action strategy game, which arrives on April 18th on everything but the kitchen sink (with a built-in LED screen).
As the release day slowly approaches, many fans are wondering if Minecraft Legends will be free to play. Let’s find out.

Will Minecraft Legends be Free to Play?
The answer is no; it won’t be a free-to-play game. Minecraft Legends will be a pay-to-play as any regular release. You can check the current prices for pre-orders on various platforms below:
On PlayStation Store (for PS4 and PS5):
- Minecraft Legends Standard Edition is listed for $39.99
- Minecraft Legendst Deluxe Edition is available for pre-order for $49.99
On Nintendo Store (Switch):
- Minecraft Legends Standard Edition is going for the same $39.99
- Minecraft Legends Deluxe Edition is also $49.99
As for PC, you can add Minecraft Legends to your Wishlist, but there is no price currently listed.

On Xbox, you can pre-order the Standard and Deluxe editions digitally at the same prices as on PlayStation and Nintendo stores, but you can also get it through Game Pass.
So if you are a Game Pass subscriber, Minecraft Legends will be available to you from day 1 (April 18, 2023) via the Xbox App on all current Xbox consoles and PC. It’s not really free-to-play, but you can get it much cheaper this way, so there you have it.
