Will Diablo Immortal be Free to Play? – Answered

Blizzard’s newest Diablo game was certainly controversial when first announced, but as it looms right around the corner the hype seems to be building. Diablo Immortal is coming to mobile platforms on June 2, 2022, along with an open beta for PC on the same day. Players will be able to participate in new features like PVP, clans, and raid fights. But while this game is coming to PC, some fans are wondering if Diablo Immortal will be free to play. Good news! It totally is.

You can pre-register for Diablo Immortal right now on your platform of choice. The game will be free to download and play, which of course means there will be in-app purchases implemented to keep Diablo Immortal running. Blizzard has promised Diablo Immortal will be fully playable for free, so we expect the microtransactions to be for extra things like cosmetics. Or some kind of battle pass-style system. Either way, you can get everything out of the box without spending a dime.

Diablo Immortal looks to be a “full” Diablo experience. Players will have six classes to choose from and will be able to use multiple methods of control depending on their device’s capabilities. That includes controller support! The fans who care about Diablo lore may be interested in the story, which is set between the events of Diablo II and Diablo III. Personally, I just want to hit monsters and collect items.

For more information on Diablo Immortal, you can check out Blizzard’s website but if nothing else, we recommend checking out this blog post on the PC version. It’s fascinating stuff and full of information and context on why the team made each major decision for the PC port.
