After finally triumphing over the Scrapped Watchman, you can find an unusual item abandoned on a bench. The Faded Whistle is right in front of the Stargazer waiting for someone to pick it up, and unlocks a small sidequest where you can bring some happiness to an innocent girl in the city. Where to Get the Faded Whistle in Lies of P

You will see a shining dot on a bench right after defeating the game’s third boss. Take a break, have some water, and then return to the game to find it right next to the entry for the next district in Krat. You can find it in the Recollection items section in your inventory, and you can even use it if you want.

This is unique for this item, and there’s a special place where you should use it.

How to Use the Faded Whistle in Lies of P

Head for the Inside the House on Elysion Boulevard Stargazer in Chapter II (which has the Whistle icon right next to its name) and head forward through the ceiling exit as if it were your first time exploring here. Beat the few puppets you encounter and climb down the stairs to the right. 

You’ll see a glowing window Toma speaks of missing her friend Murphy and wanting to hear him once again. But she’s ill and cannot get out. Murphy is no longer, but you don’t need to tell her that. You can make her wish come true in a way instead.

After interacting with the girl once, head over to the inventory and use the Faded Whistle so she can hear it. She is delighted by hearing her friend’s whistle once more, but she cannot come out to see him. And that might be for the best. You get a Radiant Ergo Fragment for your good Samaritan job, but it doesn’t affect your humanity. Well, at least you made her happy.

You should use this Ergo as soon as you get the chance to get some extra stats as soon as possible. Just remember to keep these Rare Ergo you get from bosses as these can be used for something way better than merely leveling up.
