There is no shortage of random keys; some of which prove exceptionally useful for looting high-end items, while others open a single door with a bunch of random, loose loot. It’s a mixed bag, but here is where to get the Iron Gate Key in Escape From Tarkov.
How to Get the Iron Gate Key in Escape From Tarkov
Unfortunately, the Iron Gate Key in Escape From Tarkov does not have a guaranteed set spawn anywhere in the game. It’s part of the random loot table, spawning in Jackets, Drawers, and in the pockets or backpacks of Scavs. As such, you’ll have to grind a bit and rely on luck to uncover one for yourself.
Your best bet is to dive into raids with plenty of jackets and drawers, like Factory or Customs, and loot spots you typically wouldn’t. How often do you search jackets in the storage sheds on Customs? It’s time to start looking through each one!
That said, you will want to actively search for the key. Besides unlocking access to a bunch of loot, it’s part of a quest for Skier.
What the Iron Gate Key is Used For in Escape From Tarkov
Obtaining an Iron Gate Key is part of a side quest, House Arrest—Part 1, for Skier. Your goal is to head into the Streets of Tarkov, find the missing group held captive, and then extract. The Iron Gate Key opens the cell doors where the group is being held. You must be level 33 to start the quest, and it pays exceptionally well. You’ll receive almost 30,000 EXP, over 100,000 roubles, and a rifle.
On top of the quest for Skier, the Iron Gate Key unlocks a series of cell doors in Chekannaya 15 Apartments on Streets of Tarkov. They’re on the third floor, and inside, you’ll find random loose loot, plus a few dead Scavs. You can pick their pockets for additional items.
While you’re searching pockets, keep an eye out for a Military Flash Drive!
