Before hunting for red bromeliads, you’ll want to make sure you have Sunlit Plateau unlocked. You can access this area directly from the Plaza using the northwest ramp after clearing away the large night thorns blocking the path. It costs 7,000 Dreamlight to get rid of the obstacle, so make sure you have some saved up!

Once you enter Sunlit Plateau, you can begin looking for bromeliads! You can find multiple color variations, including pink, red and yellow ones. While you can also find houseleeks in similar colors, red isn’t one of them.

Additionally, while houseleeks are tall plants with multiple flowers, bromeliads are short, leafy plants with a couple of flowers poking out of the top. The leaves also have different appearances, with houseleeks having many small leaves and bromeliads having large green ones.

Generally speaking, you’ll want to look out for a short, leafy plant with bright red flowers from the top. If you don’t see any around or need a lot for a quest, you may have to leave and return to Sunlit Plateau later once they respawn.
