Where to Get Dormant Fungal Nucleus in Genshin Impact

There are three main ways to get Dormant Fungal Nucleus in Genshin Impact:

  1. Defeating Level 40+ Fungi enemies
  2. Purchasing from Paimon’s Bargains for 15 Masterless Stardust
  3. Crafted using three Inactivated Fungal Nucleus

Paimon’s Bargains

In Paimon’s Bargains in the shop, you can buy one Dormant Fungal Nucleus for 15 Masterless Stardust. While this is expensive compared to other items in the store, it’s a viable option if you’re just a few away from your next ascension. However, you can only buy 12 each month, making it a finite method.

Crafting Using Inactivated Fungal Nucleus

If you’re done ascending your weapons using Inactivated Fungal Nucleus, you can use any excess to craft Dormant nuclei. For each Dormant Nucleus you make, you need three Inactivated ones. Head to a crafting bench and select Dormant Fungal Nucleus to begin making them.

Defeating Level 40 Fungi

The main way to get Dormant Fungal Nucleus in Genshin Impact is to fight Fungi. These enemies spawn exclusively in Sumeru, so you’ll need access there first! To reach Sumeru, you must complete the main story up to at least Chapter II: Act IV and be Adventure Rank 35.

While you’ll find Fungi in multiple locations around Sumeru, there are a few noteworthy spots to explore:

  • The northern region of Mawtimiya Forest
  • In Chinvat Ravine, west of Gandharva Ville
  • Surrounding Pardis Dhyai
  • East of the Ruins of Dahri, in the southern part of the Ashavan Realm
  • West of Vanarana

There are also several different Fungi you may find throughout these regions. Below are some you may encounter:

  • Floating Dendro Fungus
  • Floating Hydro Fungus
  • Grounded Hydroshroom
  • Stretchy Anemo Fungus
  • Stretchy Geo Fungus
  • Stretchy Pyro Fungus
  • Whirling Cryo Fungus
  • Whirling Electro Fungus
  • Winged Cryshroom
  • Winged Dendroshroom

Make sure that the Fungi you encounter are at least Level 40. Any enemies lower than this will only give you Inactivated Fungal Nucleus. Furthermore, any Fungi Level 60 or above may also drop Robust Fungal Nucleus, the tier above Dormant.
