Where to Find a Chocobo in Junon in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth (FF7)

Why run when you can climb?

After completing Chapter 3 in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, you enter the Junon Region where you need to find a Chocobo all over again. To keep you from walking all over the region, I can point you in the right direction for a trusty bird in a new place.

Head northwest of the Mythril Mine to Gabe’s Ranch where you can tame a new Chocobo in the Junon Region. Just like the Grasslands, you need to tame a mount before you can start riding around the map, which means you have another mini-game ahead of you. This time you need to tame a Chocobo named Belle, who is on the other side of Gabe’s Ranch and has plenty of other birds surrounding it. Stealth is the name of the game for success.

Before you go looking for Belle, you need to speak to Gabe directly. He will tell you that he can’t spare any Chocobos as it’s too dangerous and he still needs some help with parts at his ranch. This starts the Stuck in a Rut quest. If you accept, you will have the option to catch Belle as a new Chocobo in the Junon Region of Final Fantasy 7 and you can complete the rest of the Stuck in a Rut sidequest later on.

When you attempt to catch Belle, make sure to use the carts as cover. Rocks won’t work to distract any of the birds and are only good for flipping switches at a distance. Just take your time and utilize the cart cover to sneak up on the Chocobo.

Once you catch Belle, the whole party will have access to mounts like you did in the Grasslands. However, the Chocobos in the Junon Region can climb on the side of rock walls that are marked with arrows. Without a mount, traversing the whole map will be impossible so I recommend getting this out of the way.
