What Is Dragonsplauge in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Dragonsplauge is a mysterious illness that pawns can contract when they go beyond the Rift. You’ll know that one of your party has this disease by paying attention to their eyes — if they’ve begun glowing a terrifying red shade, then it’s time to take some swift action to ensure that you won’t completely botch your run.

However, before their eyes start glowing red, you may notice a change in attitude in your pawn. Someone who is normally kindhearted and sweet may suddenly become more aggressive toward you, won’t listen to your commands, and worst of all may begin attacking you during combat. Even if their eyes aren’t glowing red, there are signs that they’ve been infected by the Dragonsplauge, so pay attention to your Pawns as much as you are to your quests — like figuring out where Malcolm is hiding in The Heel of History.

How To Deal with Dragonsplauge in Dragon’s Dogma 2

There are a few things that you can do if your pawns have contracted Dragonsplauge — some slightly more kindhearted than others. The first thing that you can do, as long as the Pawn that has contracted this disease is not your main pawn, is Dismiss them. Speak to the affected Pawn, and let them know that they have been relieved of their duties. While it may pain me forever to say goodbye to Frog Nasty, I know that it’s for the safety of the world that I bid him goodbye. Don’t worry, you can always hire them back onto your team again.

However, if you’re feeling a bit mischievous or your main Pawn has been infected by Dragonsplauge, you’ll have to get a bit more creative in your efforts. Since you cannot dismiss your main Pawn, you’re going to have to kill them to stop the spread of this plague. You can toss them into a body of water or send them flying over a cliff with the Throw command, just as long as they die. Once they have passed into the great beyond, visit a Riftsone to bring them back to life. This will stop the spread of the Dragonsplauge onto other members of your party but could require a bit of travel to get back to a Riftstone to bring them back to life.
