What is Operation Cost in Dave the Diver? – Answered

What keeps taking away your money at the end of the night?

As you dive deeper into the world of Dave the Diver, you’ll notice that you can start making some extra cash by increasing the rank of your dishes and restaurant. However, as you continue to upgrade your restaurant and your dishes, you’re going to need to start bringing on some extra help. There’s only so much one man can do, and it can already get busy enough with just the smattering of customers you get at the start of the game. It may be time to start bringing on some extra staff to help out, but you’ll need to weigh the pros and cons before you make this happen. Here’s what Operation Cost is in Dave the Diver.

Operation Costs And Upgrading Dishes In Dave The Diver

As you continue upgrading your building and your wares, you’ll need to start hiring some extra help. This is where the Operation Costs start coming into play. You’ll notice that the more people you have helping, be it with delivering dishes to customers or helping out in the waiting room, you’ll need to start dishing out some extra cash. Do you want to have a successful night? You’ll likely need more staff, and with that, you’ll need more money.

However, it can get a little bit hectic after a while, especially if you bring on too many people. You’ll find that you can burn through money rather quickly, putting you in the hole instead of making extra cash. If only there was a way to trim the fat, and I’m not talking about that piece of Tuna you just brought in.

How To Fire Employees In Dave the Diver

Thankfully, if you find yourself burning through cash faster than you can make it, you can “transfer” employees. While this may sting your heart to let your favorite waiter or waitress go, you may need to make this happen. To commence the act of transferring an employee, you’ll need to jump into the Employee Menu and select Transfer under the one you would like to get rid of.

Thankfully, you’ll be able to bring them back on at a later date, but you’ll need to retrain them to get them back up to where they were before. They reset back to level one once they are transferred, so you’ll need to make sure that you’re really ready to make this happen again.

The only good part about losing staff members is you get some of your cash back. The money that you put into their training will make its way back to you, and you’ll have a bit less to worry about at the end of the night for operation costs. Maybe consider removing some of the underperforming staff before you get rid of a strong employee when you’re looking at who to let go from your team, even if you’ll only gain a little bit extra back.
