What Can You Do With The Necromancer’s Journal Books in Death Must Die

Currently, The Necromancer’s Journal books serve only one purpose: To fill you in on the lore of the Necromancer, one of the bosses in the first level of Death Must Die – The Outer Circle. We will update this article if some additional purpose is given to these books in the future.

Where to Find The Necromancer’s Journal Books in Death Must Die

All of The Necromancer’s Journal books can be found in the first level – The Outer Circle. Look for book racks that randomly spawn (and are visible on the radar). You might not get them in order, but since they are unique, you will just need patience until your entire collection is completed. I keep mine sorted in the Library located in the top-left section of the base. You can check out the rest of the lore pieces as well.

The Necromancer’s Journal 1/7

Top of the necromancy game while alive, and now I get an offer from the Grim Reaper himself? Peak career move. But now I’m reporting to a vampire. Just my luck.

Even in the afterlife, you can’t dodge the corporate ladder. Still, if you’ve got to work under someone, might as well be the undead elite.

The Necromancer’s Journal 2/7

Raising the dead? That’s my kind of party trick. This place, though, it’s a necromancer’s dream – endless supplies, endless possibilities. I’m like a kid in a mortuary. Sadly, research and development is always shelved for the mundane task of skeleton assembly…

P.S. I got it! I will build a construct that can summon skeletons autonomously! Now that’s efficiency at the workplace!

The Necromancer’s Journal 3/7

Eureka!

The “Summoners” are alive! Well, as alive as they need to be. To make one requires a ton of bones and more chants than monastery monks. Yet, once complete, they’re a one-entity skeleton factory. At last, I finally have more time for my research!

Note to self: Prototype a Summoner for Summoners? The potential for automation is immense.

Unique Epic – Lore

Yeah. These are the summoners that persistently summon new skeletons until you deal with them.

The Necromancer’s Journal 4/7

Research is a joy with more time at hand! That being said, I’ve hit a roadblock with my latest project.

The goal: a formidable undead knight, fully encased in metal armor. It still needs a skeleton underneath, as bones are the scaffolding for my spells. And herein lies the problem – the enchantments are simply not powerful enough to move that massive armor…

One does not simply put a ton of metal on an undead skeleton, it seems.

The Necromancer’s Journal 5/7

My black knights are now complete, thanks to two breakthroughs!

Firstly, I struck gold with a dusty alchemy book. It described an ancient cohesion elixir that I used to fill the space between bone and metal, greatly magnifying my enchantments!

The second breakthrough is entirely of my own. Bubbles! I am still not sure why exactly, but carbonating the formula has almost doubled its effectiveness! A big POP in the joint field of Necromancy and Alchemy!

Unique Epic – Lore

These two stories talk about those big knights with slow attack swing, loads of damage and loads of HP.

The Necromancer’s Journal 6/7

Necromancy is dead, pun intended. I’m writing a new chapter here. Sure, creating bone puppets is great and all, but I just changed the whole game.

I managed to infuse an actual soul back into the bones! These guys aren’t just stronger – they’ve got the smarts!

Though, on a second thought, giving bones a brain might just backfire…

Unique Epic – Lore

It seems to me that the Necromancer is discussing the Chatty Skeletons.

The Necromancer’s Journal 7/7

What a headache! Minions with free will are more trouble than they’re worth. Stronger? Absolutely. But now they’ve got opinions and attitudes. Especially that little skeleton archer…

I’ve created the world’s first undead labor union, apparently. Now I understand why Death prefers to just store the souls in urns.

I’ve halted productions – these few will be my “elite” and that’s that…
