What Does the Discoverer Do in Paleo Pines? – Answered

Tally ho!

Dinosaurs in Paleo Pines all come with two different skills, one that is called the Farm Skill and the other is called the Wild Skill. The Discoverer Skill falls into the latter as being a Wild Skill and is much more helpful when players are exploring outside of their farm.

Since the Discoverer Skill is part of the Wild Skill subset, this can only be used when you are outside your farm and are exploring. Before a dinosaur can fully use their skills, they require their trust in the player to be up by a certain amount.

To build up the trust between a dinosaur and the farmer, bringing them along for trips whenever you run errands or feeding them their favorite types of snacks is recommended. This can also help you find their preferred treats and what they like most in the game!

Once they are at a Trusted level, they will now be referred to as Helper dinosaurs; this is where you’ll be able to place Saddles on them, ride them around, and complete jobs with them. The smaller Dinosaurs’ tasks can be used around and outside the farm.

Whenever you are exploring outside the farm, small dinosaurs will now be able to pinpoint certain items and will lead the player to them. By recognizing their call and seeing their exclamation, the player will be able to quickly pick up various items around Paleo Pines to collect and bring back to the farm. This skill is done automatically when outside the farm and does not need signaling.

Funny enough, the same type of Dinosaurs that players use to Tend their farms are actually going to be the dinosaurs that are used to Discover items when they are out exploring. That’s because a lot of the smaller dinosaurs in Paleo Pines cannot be ridden and thus have limited uses in the game. It does make it easier to not only have some dinosaurs on the farm while others come along to help you find items when you’re out and about exploring the world.
