Tornadus Pokemon GO Counters and Raid Tips

We announced Tornadus not so long ago with some information about when and where you can start encountering this cloudy menace. We’ve relinked that particular guide here for your convenience if you need a refresher.

Now, let’s talk strategy. Tornadus is a Flying Type Pokemon, which means that you’re going to wait to hit him hard with Pokemon of the following types:

  • Electric
  • Ice
  • Rock

Tornadus will have the ability to swap between his Incarnate (cloud) form and his Therian form, the latter of which is basically just him as a giant bird with a moustache. The Type weaknesses of both forms remains the same, so you just have to remember to not bring Pokemon of Bug, Fighting, or Grass Types to this battle since Tornadus will likely be able to wipe the floor with them.

We would recommend the following Pokemon as counters, and we’ve also listed the moves that it’ll be handy for these counters to have:

  • Raikou – Thunder Shock, Wild Charge
  • Mamoswine – Powder Snow, Avalanche
  • Electivire – Thunder Shock, Wild Charge
  • Rampardos – Smack Down, Rock Slide

Now that you’ve got more information about potential Tornadus Pokemon GO counters and raid tips, actually taking down and adding this Pokemon to your collection shouldn’t be too difficult from today. You’re only going to have until February 25 to add this bad boy to your team, so it’s time to take on all challengers and get your butt into gear. Need a hand with anything else in Pokemon GO? Why not check out these other tips and tricks that we’ve put together?
