The developers have provided a fairly detailed breakdown of what players can expect from their hardware. If you’re aiming for 1440p at the high settings preset, you’ll need a GPU like the RTX 3070 paired with a Ryzen 7 3700X. Given that these requirements are for native rendering and not upscaled, the requirements aren’t that high.

For 4K, you’ll need the tried and tested RTX 4080, but this is with the “Very High” preset at native resolution. We’re sure that players can still enjoy the game at 4K if they’re open to using DLSS or FSR and potentially lowering the settings a few notches.

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered PC Features and Settings

Like other PC ports from Nixxes and Iron Galaxy, the following features will be available on day one.

  • Nvidia DLSS 3 Super Resolution and Frame Generation support
  • AMD FSR 3.1 and AMD FSR 4 support with upscaling and frame generation
  • VSync and framerate cap options, including an uncapped framerate option
  • DirectStorage support
  • Ultrawide support: 21:9 ultra-wide, 32:9 super ultra-wide, and even 48:9 resolutions with compatibility for triple-monitor setups
  • Keyboard and mouse control support along with full remapping.
  • DualSense controllers are supported and feature full haptic feedback (wired connection)

You will be able to adjust the following settings to potentially make the game look better than the PS5 release:

  • Adjustable Texture Quality
  • LOD Distance Range
  • Volumetric Quality
  • Shadow Quality
  • Ambient Occlusion
  • Reflections Quality
  • and more

PlayStation Network log-in bonuses

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered also supports PlayStation overlay and PSN Trophies with an optional account for PlayStation Network log-in. This is optional, but if you do sign up for it, you’ll receive the 50 in-game points to activate bonus features, as well as a new skin for Ellie featuring Jordan A. Mun’s jacket from Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

Even though the log-in requirement is made optional, The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered is still not available to purchase in several regions. We’re unsure why it’s even a problem anymore, but PlayStation has not offered a solution yet.

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered Release Date for PC

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered is coming to PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store on April 3, 2025.

Even though Nixxes and Iron Galaxy have a mostly solid track record, launches can be a bit rough for both studios. Recently, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was a step down from what I’ve usually come to expect from Nixxes Software, and I really hope that isn’t the case with The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered.
