The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered Save File Location for PC

Every last one of them.

The Last of Us Part 2: Remastered was originally released on the PS5 last year and has now made its way to PC, thanks to Nixxes and Iron Galaxy Studios. The sequel’s remastered release is in good shape on PC, though it isn’t without its issues.

The PC version supports all the features you’d expect on Steam, including cloud saves. However, if you’re looking for your local progress data, here is the save file location for The Last of Us Part 2: Remastered.

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered Save File Location

ClientSave File Location
SteamC:\Users\[Windows Username]\Documents\The Last of Us Part II\[STEAM ID]
Epic Games LauncherC:\Users\[Windows Username]\Documents\The Last of Us Part II\

The main folder for both clients is located in the Windows Documents folder. For the Steam version, you’ll find your data within another folder that has your unique Steam ID. For future use, though, I recommend simply backing up the entire The Last of Us Part II folder. If you purchased the Epic Games Store version, you’ll find the save files in the same location in the Documents folder.

You can access the same location as above by entering the following address in Windows Run or File Explorer.

%USERPROFILE%\Documents\The Last of Us Part II\

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered Steam Features

On Steam, you can enjoy several features that aren’t available on the Epic Games Launcher version of The Last of Us Part II: Remastered. These include the following:

  • Steam Cloud: Allows you to pick up progress across different devices, including the Steam Deck
  • Steam Input: Even though the game has native support for several Xbox and PlayStation controllers. However, non-supported controllers like the Nintendo Switch Pro controller can be used thanks to Steam Input. You can make custom configurations for your controller as well.
  • Steam Family Share: This allows members of your family to play The Last of Us Part II: Remastered.
  • Steam Achievements

Overall, The Last of Us Part II: Remastered is a much better release than the original’s remake. However, some issues exist, including uneven performance and visual bugs that I hope are addressed soon in a patch. Nixxes does a great job of supporting their PC ports with improvements added with major patches.

If you’re playing The Last of Us Part II: Remastered on an AMD GPU and are running into frequent stability issues, here is how you can fix that.
