Tears of the Kingdom: How to Get the Travel Medallion in TotK

All around the world, statues crumble for me.

With the land of Hyrule being larger than ever before in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the idea of Fast Traveling may sound like the perfect way to get to your next destination. While riding around on your favorite horse is always a great time, sometimes you may not want to deal with the travel time. That’s where the Travel Medallion comes into play, giving you a peaceable Fast Travel spot that you can always return to at any time. But, how do you get this essential Purah Pad upgrade?

Where To Get Travel Medallion In Tears of the Kingdom

As you work through the variety of Side Quests available to you, you’ll find that Robbie and Josha have a few that will help you out in the long run. If you’re looking to get the Camera and Autobuild Ultrahand powers, you’ll need to complete a few quests for them, including:

  • Camera Works in the Depths
  • A Mystery in the Depths

Once you have completed those, you’ll just want to follow along with our Shrine Sensor guide to get one of the most important Purah Pad upgrades available in the game. But once you have done that, you’ll also get the opportunity to add a few new powers to your pad, including the Travel Medallion.

Robbie will inform you that there was a prototype for this essential travel item at his old lab in Akkala, but it was taken over by some nasty folk. Head out to coordinates (4506, 3143, 0245) in the North-east portion of the map to get to this particular location. Once you see the lab, walk up to the door and try to enter, but be prepared for battle against the Yiga Clan.

Once you have defeated the foes, you’ll be able to head into this building. Near the workbench in the photo above, you’ll find a treasure chest that holds the Travel Medallion Prototype inside. Access your map and hover down to the Hateno Tech Lab, which Robbie has turned into a fast travel point. Click on this, and you’ll be ready to go and add the Travel Medallion to your ever-growing list of tricks.

How To Use Travel Medallions In Tears Of The Kingdom

To access and use your Travel Medallions, you’ll just want to head into your Inventory and select Key Items. Once you have done this, find the Travel Medallions in your items pouch, and press A to select it. Press Place, and you’ll drop an instant Fast Travel Medallion where you are standing, so you can always come back to this location in a matter of moments. To pick it up, find it on the Map, select it, and select Collect Medallion instead of Travel.

How To Get More Travel Medallions In Tears Of The Kingdom

If you’re looking to get more Travel Medallions, you’ll need to speak with Robbie once again. As you continue to unlock Skyview Towers around the map, Robbie will reward you with an additional Travel Medallion. You can unlock a total of 3 of them, giving you the perfect opportunity to visit the Depths, the lands of Hyrule, and the Skies without ever having to worry about losing your spot when you need to progress through the story a bit further. You’ll need to do the following to get all of the Travel Medallions:

  • Second Travel Medallion – Visit 10 Skyview Towers
  • Thrid Travel Medallion – Vist All Skyview Towers (15 in total)
