Struggling to find all of the chest passwords in Tales of Graces f Remastered? We’ve got you. This guide covers all the passwords needed to open the password-protected chests.
What Are Password Chests in Tales of Graces f Remastered?
Every major location in Tales of Graces f Remastered has a chest that can only be opened after inputting a password. The passwords, or a hint about the passwords, are hidden nearby, somewhere in the same settlement. It’s easy to miss the passwords and find the chest first instead; this guide will go over the passwords so you don’t have to abandon the chest, look for the password, then come back to the chest. It’s worth opening these chests when you find them, as they contain rare and powerful items.
Are the Passwords the same as in the Original Tales of Graces f?
The original Tales of Graces f had password chests, but the passwords are not the same in Remastered. The original passwords were words. In Remastered, the passwords are entirely numeric. If you played the original Tales of Graces f, your memory of the passwords will not come in handy here.
All Chest Passwords in Tales of Graces f Remastered
Knight Academy in Barona

The first password chest you can come across is in Barona, in the Knight Academy. After entering the academy, head left and enter the room. The chest will be inside. Open the chest using the password 091210 to obtain a powerful Elixir item. While it’s not necessary to get the item, it’s nice to know that the password is a reference to the date December (12) 10, 2009—the Japanese release date for the very first version of Tales of Graces on the Wii!
Lhant Manor in Lhant

This chest will not appear in the Childhood’s End prologue chapter. After returning to Lhant as an adult, enter the leftmost room on the ground floor (the study) to find the password chest. The password is 37 (“Iron Sword’s Physical Attack”) and the reward is the iconic All-Divide.
Duke Dalen’s Office in Gralesyde
The password chest in Gralesyde isn’t obscured by anything. Just check the right corner of Duke Dalen’s office, on the second floor of the building. The password for this chest is 4, plain and simple. The reward is a Book of Wealth, which increases the gald you get after winning battles, as well as randomly earns you anywhere between 2 to 14 gald as you mosey along your adventure.
Oul Raye
The Oul Raye password chest can be found out and about, behind the staircase to the left of the inn. This chest’s password is 100, and you’ll want to input it to get the Book of Sustenance. This item will allow your party to randomly restore HP as you walk around.
Sable Izolle
The Sable Izolle password chest is located on the cliffside near the bridge, just after the save point. The password is supposed to be the Rockgagong’s enemy book number (the original password was just “rockgagong”), but you can just input 302 instead of scrambling to register one in your enemy book. This password chest contains a Book of Restraint, which halves the eleth cooking cost by half but also decreases the amount of HP that cooking heals by three-fourths.
President’s Office in Yu Liberte
Inside the president’s office in Yu Liberte, check behind the chalkboard to the left of the seated president (his right) to find the password chest. The password for this chest is 42. Input it to obtain the Book of Restriction, which halves all party member’s stats besides accuracy in exchange for double the chance to perform a critical hit.
Warrior’s Roost
The password chest in Warrior’s Roost is out in plain sight, in the right-hand corner of the registration area. Just input the number 3 and you’ll get yourself a Book of Metabolism. With this book, cooked dishes’ effect durations will be doubled.
Inn in Velanik
Take a peek behind the backstage curtain in the Velanik Inn and you’ll find the password chest. The password is the number of horns on a Strahteme (the original password was even “strahteme”)—so only 2. The reward is the Book of Deduction. This book allows you to automatically restore your Mixer’s eleth whenever you enter a town instead of needing to find a merchant and pay them. In exchange for this convenience, you’re charged 1.1 gald for each eleth point restored, instead of the one-to-one rate you’re charged by merchants.
Inn in Zavhert
Enter the western room on the first floor in the Zavhert Inn, and you’ll find the password chest snuggled up behind the farthest bed. This chest’s password is 60, and its loot is the Book of Finesse. Your chance of stealing items from enemies will double with this book in tow.
Fourier’s House in Amarcian Enclave
You’ll find the password chest for Amarcian Enclave inside Fourier’s House, in the room next to Pascal’s room. The password for this chest is 13, and you’ll get the Book of Acquisition from it. It increases your chances of getting shards from enemies.
Shuttle Bay in Telos Astue
The shuttle bay in Telos Astue can be found on the lower level, off to the right. The chest’s password is 1000 and will grant you the Book of Enthusiasm. Like the Book of Restriction, this book’s effect halves each party members’ stats save for accuracy, but in exchange, they get double the EXP after battle.
Katz Corner
The password chest in the Katz Corner is just off to the left. The password is simply 5, and the loot is simply an amazing Hourglass, which stops all enemies in battle for a short period of time.
All other chests in Tales of Graces f Remastered can be opened without any passwords, but beware: if you reach an item’s limit, you won’t be able to take the chest’s loot. Thankfully, the password chests’ rewards are so rare, you won’t have to worry about not being able to stash them away in your inventory when you come across them.
