Pokemon GO: How to Get Stickers

Pokemon GO players can now send and receive stickers! Here's how to begin growing your in-game sticker collection!
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

In June, Niantic announced that it would be adding stickers to Pokemon GO in the near future, and the feature is now live in the game. While there doesn’t seem to be any type of advantage to collecting stickers, players will be able to personalize gifts a little bit with the addition of cute designs. In this guide, we’re going to explain how to get stickers in Pokemon GO as well as how to send them to your friends!

How to Collect Stickers in Pokemon GO

Pokemon GO stickers were officially added into the game on June 11, 2020, and every player received a set of stickers to celebrate. So if you’re planning to send a gift to a friend in the near future, you can now add a sticker to the gift to give it a personal touch. When your friend receives your gift, they’ll see the sticker you sent attached to a card. It’s worth noting that stickers serve no purpose in the game, except for cuteness, of course.

There are two ways to get stickers in Pokemon GO and add them to your collection. First, every time you receive a gift, you’ll have a chance at receiving a sticker. If you’ve received a gift recently, you’ll know that players have a chance at receiving Poke Balls and Stardust with every gift, now you can add Stickers to that list. The second option to get stickers is to purchase them from the in-game store, although this option is not available at the time of writing. However, Niantic has shared that there will be more sticker designs available in the shop at a later date. Further, at launch, there are currently five stickers that players can collect.

Since every player was given a set of stickers when the feature launched, you can start sending them to your friends right now. To send a sticker in Pokemon GO, simply follow the instructions below:

  1. Open your friend’s list and select a friend to send a gift to
  2. Select the gift you’d like to send
  3. Select “Add Sticker” and choose the design you’d like to send with your gift
  4. Press “Send” and your gift and sticker will be on its way!

As you can see, sending a sticker in Pokemon GO is a pretty easy process and will surely bring a smile to your friend’s face. There has been no official word on when new sticker designs will be added to the store, but I imagine it won’t be too long.
