The highly anticipated January Community Day event for January 2020 took place for Pokemon GO this past weekend. Trainers had a much higher chance of being able to catch a Piplup during the January 2020 Community Day event. This fact is significant, considering players were all trying to evolve a Piplup during the event to obtain an Empoleon that had an exclusive event moveset that is now the character’s best one. Fortunately for you curious players, we have the best moveset for Empoleon covered for you.
Pokemon GO Best Empoleon Moveset
The combination of Metal Claw and Hydro Pump had been the best moveset for the water-type in the popular mobile game before the January 2020 Community Day event with the two moves offering the most considerable damage per second rate for Empoleon. However, Piplups that ultimately evolved into Empoleons during the latest Community Day event automatically knew the exclusive event move of Hydro Cannon. Players now have Empoleons that know Hydro Cannon, which means the combo of Metal Claw and Hydro Cannon is now considered by the community to be the best moveset for Empoleon.
Unfortunately, if you were not able to get a Hydro Cannon Empoleon during the January 2020 Community Day event, you will not be able to get this character with its best moveset for the time being. It remains to be seen if Niantic will allow players to obtain a Hydro Cannon knowing version of the creature in Pokemon GO again.
