Photographs and Poem Puzzle Solution in Tenebris Somnia
Probably the best puzzle in the game.
Tenebris Somnia is one heck of a game, and while none of the puzzles are excessively difficult, this one definitely tripped us up a bit.
Now, there is a secret trick to solving this puzzle, but I’m going to leave that for the end of the article. First, I’ll explain how the puzzle works and offer you the chance to solve it for yourself, so let’s get it done.
How the Photo Frame Puzzle in Tenebris Somnia Works
Before you can attempt the photo poem puzzle in Tenebris Somnia, you’ll need the Photographs. These can be found in this exact room, one floor down, amongst some clothing. So, if you haven’t grabbed them yet, go ahead and do that.
As you enter the room, pictured in the above screenshot, you’ll see four poems on the right side of the wall, and four spaces for photographs on the left side of the wall. The poems are randomized, and each one corresponds to a specific photograph, so you’ll need to decode the poem and then select the photograph to match it.
When you first enter the room, you’ll need to head to the empty spaces for the photographs and use the photographs from your inventory to place them.
It can be a pretty tricky puzzle, with some of the poems seemingly having no good match, but once you get it, it does become almost obvious. I do admit it’s a brilliant bit of puzzle design, this one. Go ahead and give it a try; it’s fun and oh so rewarding if you can figure it out.

Alright, time for that secret. The poems don’t actually matter all that much. What really matters is how they start, since there are only four sets of poems. So, if you’re completely stuck, here’s how to quickly and easily figure out the solution.
