Nixxes Software and Insomniac have partnered yet again for the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on PC. Unlike the last two Spider-Man releases, this one is a bit of a mixed bag when it comes to general stability. That said, it has plenty of features we’ve come to expect from PlayStation Studios, who have finally made the PSN login requirement completely optional. If you’re looking for your local progress though, here is the save file location for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Save File Location
Steam | C:\Users\[Windows Username]\Documents\Marvel’s Spider-Man 2\[Steam Numeric ID] |
Epic Games Store | C:\Users\[Windows Username]\Documents\Marvel’s Spider-Man 2\ |
Steam users can find their saved files inside the folder with their 64-bit Steam ID (which is usually a combination of numbers and letters). Save files for previous Spider-Man releases on PC were also located in the Windows Documents folder. We recommend backing up the entire “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2” folder for future use. You can also find the log file (Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.log) in this folder if you want to share that with the developers for any potential technical issues.
Alternatively, you can enter the following address in Windows File Explorer or Windows Run to access the same location above:
%userprofile%\documents\Marvel's Spider-Man 2\
Just like previous releases, there are a few backup save files in the folder as well, so if something gets corrupted, you can restore your progress using a backup save.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Cloud Save Support and Steam Features
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has support for Steam Cloud, and we highly recommend keeping that enabled. Similarly, cloud saves are also available while playing on the Epic Games Store version. In addition to Steam Cloud, Spider-Man 2 has support for the following Steam features:
- Steam Achievements
- Steam Family Sharing
- Steam Input
PC players can also upgrade to the Deluxe version of the game even after buying the Standard Edition.
Overall, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is another release from Nixxes that makes good use of Steam’s features and solid controller support too. Players interested in playing the title on multiple devices can easily do so thanks to Steam Cloud. Unlike the last two titles though, Spider-Man 2’s launch hasn’t been the smoothest, and it’s largely down to performance issues. However, Nixxes has always done a great job of supporting their PC releases for quite a long while, and we hope to see improvements very soon.
