M.O.D.O.K. – New Marvel Snap February Battle Pass Card Leaked

Gotta love those leaks!

M.O.D.O.K. is the new Battle Pass Card that will become available in February with the new Premium Season Pass. M.O.D.O.K. will be a fine addition to some decks and we can’t wait to take it for a spin here at Prima Games. We’ll showcase M.O.D.O.K. and provide some tips on how you can (ab)use him.

MODOK – Leak of the New Marvel Snap February Premium Battle Pass Card

M.O.D.O.K. is a 5-Cost card that has 8 Power (usually, cards with the cost of five should have 10 Power on average) which might be underwhelming, but the effect M.O.D.O.K. has is crazy:

“On Reveal: Discard your hand”.

That’s it. Three words of the On Reveal text. Some players might say “bUt WhY wOuLd I DiScArD mY EnTiRe HaNd?” but the Apocalypse / Dracula / Morbius / Swarm players probably feel that they have gotten the final piece of their puzzle.

Is M.O.D.O.K. Any Good in Marvel Snap?

Of course! The only downside is that you would be losing Hela a few times when you use this effect. However, the upside is that your hand will be completely filtered from all the cards, returning just the Apocalypse to your hand. Then, on Turn 6, you can play whatever you’ve drawn, leaving Apocalypse to sit alone in your hand and waiting for Dracula to pitch it for that end-game boost.

The problem with M.O.D.O.K. is that you can randomly get it from the X-Mansion early while you are NOT playing a Discard deck, which leads to a quick Retreat because you’re left with literally nothing to play with. Also, if this happens to your opponent, make sure to push for a Snap.

If your opponent clearly runs a Discard deck and has dropped M.O.D.O.K., make sure that Hela (maybe even Ghost Rider) is discarded before proceeding with the game because that can and will bite you back hard later down the line if you don’t have a big plan to stop that stuff.
