Is Valor Mortis Coming To Game Pass
Fancy a Soulslike?
Valor Mortis is a first-person soulslike set in an alternate version of the Napoleonic era. It beautifully blends the brutality of the Napoleonic Wars with supernatural horror. It’s a game that has gotten a lot of gamers excited.
The game launched at $39.99 for Standard and $59.99 for the Deluxe edition. This is pretty standard pricing for a game of this standard. Now, if you want to buy the game, that’s completely fine, but you’d be happy to know that Valor Mortis is available on Xbox Game Pass.
The game joined Game Pass alongside titles like Battlefield 6, Echo Forever, and Forever Ago. It joined Game Pass on Day 1 of release.
Which Game Pass Tiers Include Valor Mortis?
According to the official Xbox Game Pass announcement, Valor Mortis is included with Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass at launch. Subscribers can play the game on supported platforms without paying the separate purchase price.
The game is available through Xbox Game Pass on Xbox Series X|S and PC, with cloud gaming and handheld support also listed in Microsoft’s announcement. However, availability can vary by platform and region, so players should check their local Xbox Store listing before downloading. Players who don’t have a qualifying subscription can purchase Valor Mortis separately.
What Is Valor Mortis About?
Valor Mortis is developed by One More Level, the studio behind Ghostrunner, which was a pretty good title. It’s a first-person action soulslike set in a supernatural version of the Napoleonic era.
You play as William, a soldier in Napoleon’s army who returns from the dead to discover the continent devastated by a mysterious plague.
The game has the core elements of a soulslike, but unlike most games of this genre, Valor Mortis is first-person. The game combines challenging melee combat with supernatural abilities, grotesque enemies, and a dark historical setting. Much like all soulslikes, you must master parries, dodges, and different weapons to beat this game all while uncovering the conspiracy behind their resurrection and the horrors spreading across Europe.
With its day-one Game Pass release, subscribers have an opportunity to experience the game’s unusual blend of historical fiction and supernatural horror without having to buy the game outright.
Valor Mortis is available now on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Players can also purchase it separately on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
