Is the Wizard Paragon Good in BTD6? – Answered

Shadow Wizard Monkey Gang!

The newest update in Bloons TD6 brought another Paragon to fend off the ever-threatening bloons. Magus Perfectus is the Wizard Paragon introduced in Version 37.0, combining the powers of all three existing Wizard paths into the definitive version of an all-powerful bloon-melting warlock. Definitely one of the most anticipated Paragons as we love popping bloons!

Paragons are known for having huge requirements to be summoned, and sometimes they might not even be worth the trouble. Is that the case with the Wizard Paragon, or is this magician actually worth your time in Bloons TD6?

How Good is the Wizard Paragon in BTD6?

The Wizard Paragon is possibly one of the strongest Paragons released in the game. The regular Wizard Monkey is already a beast on its own, so it’s only natural that its definitive version can rack that up to eleven. With some more-than-broken abilities and powerful regular hits, this is one of the best towers you can build for Freeplay.

You can unlock it after unlocking all three paths and paying more than 500,000 Experience Points for the Paragon. You can summon it anytime you want by sacrificing all Tier 5 Wizard Monkeys at once by leveling one of them to the Paragon in-game.

Magus Perfectus is mostly based on the Wizard’s Lord Pheonix path, but also brings elements from the Archmage and the Prince of Darkness. It has two togglable attacks: Phoenix bolt attacks similar to the Lord Pheonix, which consumes its Graveyard mana, and a weaker beam that charges said mana back. Managing your mana is the key to using the Wizard to its fullest.

As for Abilities, it has two abilities that consume its Graveyard: First Phoenix Explosion burns all of your mana to pop all bloons on the screen and summons a ZOMGs for each 9000 mana you had, just like the Prince of Darkness. Arcane Metamorphosis turns the Magus into a Pheonix-hybrid form and summons various Walls of Fire around the arena to obliterate the bloons.

Although its mana charging attack is fairly weak compared to his other abilities, it’s there for balancing purposes and it’s not useless at all. The Magus Perfectus requires charging his resources back and using them at the right timing to conquer the most complicated late-game stages. Harder to use than most Paragons, but with a huge reward when mastered.

Should You Go For the Wizard Paragon?

Paragons are not intended for early stages. The Wizard Paragon costs from $637,500 to $900,000 depending on your difficulty, and you also need all Tier 5 Wizards beforehand, as well as spare towers if you wanna give some extra fuel to the Wizard in its summoning.

They’re not something you’ll make on a regular match and are intended to be powerful late-game toys, usually for Rounds 100+. If you wanna reach that bloon-popping power fantasy in the most magical style, this is definitely the choice for you.

Just make sure you have the funds for it. The Shadow Government won’t be sponsoring you here. And also be aware that you’ll lose a ton of powerful Monkeys at once. The Wizard can definitely take care of huge waves by itself, but it might be just too sudden, so don’t get scared. Just set your priorities to the right targets and you’re good.
