Is An Insurmountable Skullfort Good in Destiny 2? – Answered

You are safe in your skullfort.

Xur has returned to the Tower on September 9 with plenty of Exotics to purchase, and like clockwork, he has one piece of armor for each class. For the Titan class this week, the Exotic vendor brought An Insurmountable Skullfort, which is a classic helmet much older than the Season of Plunder.

With so many different pieces of armor and Exotics for the Titan class alone, it can be hard to tell what is worth buying from Xur. It’s just as difficult to decide when one Exotic is better than another for the build you want. We have you covered on that front. In this guide, we’ll explain what An Insurmountable Skullfort does and whether the armor is still good in Destiny 2.

Destiny 2 – An Insurmountable Skullfort Perks and Usefulness

The most important parts of any Exotic gear in the game are the two powerful perks. There is typically one unique perk slotted in the gear and another perk that has a chance to be rolled, allowing for a more effective gear piece. These perks can make or break the rating of specific Exotics.

An Insurmountable Skullfort is based around gaining health back and utilizing your melee attacks. Transfusion Matrix is the main perk and rewards Guardians who get kills with Arc abilities by regenerating their health and melee energy. That sounds fantastic on paper, but how well does it hold up against the plethora of other Exotic armor pieces for Titans?

In short, An Insurmountable Skullfort is considered a high-tier piece of armor. Most players wouldn’t consider the helmet a top-tier option, but it’s certainly better than many of the other options in the game. On a tier list, it falls somewhere in between A-Tier and S-Tier. You wouldn’t bring the helmet into the hardest Destiny 2 content, but it can be fantastic for playing matchmaking activities or running with a new squad.

Crucible and content with tons of smaller enemies are going to be the best places to utilize An Insurmountable Skullfort for your Arc Titan. Essentially, the Exotic is all about staying alive and having fun with your melee attacks. If you don’t already have it, you should certainly pick it up from Xur before it’s gone.
