Hyper Light Breaker Save File Location and Steam Features Detailed

There's a new location!

Hyper Light Breaker officially launched in early access on Steam and it’s the second title set in the Hyper Light universe. This is a big departure from the original release and the reception to its release has been largely mixed. The developers are active on the forums, have been taking feedback from players, and have already deployed a patch to address some pressing concerns. If you’re looking to back up your progress of Hyper Light Breaker, here is the new save file location for PC.

Previously, the save file was present in the “Saved” folder inside the “Breaker” folder instead. However, after players reported an issue with Steam Cloud not transferring the save files to the Steam Deck, the developers have since changed the location to address that.

The save file itself is one file that is a string of numbers and has a bsf extension (.bsf). If for whatever reason, the older file doesn’t transfer to the new location, simply grab the bsf file and paste it in the new location inside the SaveGames folder instead.

The location of the save files may be updated again down the line, and depending on the patch, players might have to start over as well which has been the case for some other early access titles on Steam.

Hyper Light Breaker Steam Features

Hyper Light Breaker has Steam Cloud support on PC and while it wasn’t perfect at launch, the developers addressed issues related to it in patch v0.5.1.107947 and recently in v0.5.1.107947.

Apart from that, players can also share the title with their family members through Steam Families and use different controllers through Steam Input, even though it has native support for Xbox and PlayStation controllers by default. Currently, there are no achievements for the Steam release and we expect those to be added eventually, or maybe at the launch of version 1.0.

Once you have your files sorted though, make sure to read up on how you can earn Gold Rations, unlock Medkits, and effectively parry.
