How to Use the Unending Codex in FFXIV

Patch 6.1 in FFXIV has added a brand new item called the Unending Codex. It’s sort of like your own personal encyclopedia for all things Eorzea. You’re able to look up characters, events, and places to learn more about them and have a handy notebook for remembering key events. Here’s how to use the Unending Codex in FFXIV.

How to Use the Unending Codex in FFXIV

First off, you won’t be given access to the Unending Codex until you reach Patch 6.1, meaning you’ll need to have completed the base game and all of the expansions through Endwalker. Once you’ve started Patch 6.1 Tataru will give you the Codex during the first quest and it will be pretty empty.

As you continue through the patch, more and more of the Unending Codex will be unlocked. As you continue to do events and quests more and more of the Codex will be unlocked.

To access the Unending Codex click on the Duty option on the red bar on the bottom right-hand side. Then choose the collection option and the Unending Codex will pop up on the left side of the screen. Select it to open up the full Codex and read it to your heart’s content.

The more activities you do once acquiring the Codex the more it will fill out.

This is just one of the many new features and activities added in 6.1 You can also check out the Minstrel’s Ballad Endsinger Extreme, the new Alliance Raid, or even some of the new mounts.
