How to Unlock Guns in Palworld

Why use a spear when you can get a gun?

We all saw the promotional images of Palworld featuring various Pals operating emplaced machine guns and a player character carrying an assault rifle, and now everyone wants to recreate the scenario for themselves. Well, here is how to unlock guns in Palworld.

How to Get Guns in Palworld

To get guns in Palworld, you have one of two options available, including building the Pal Gear Workbench to equip certain Pals with weapons, or you must patiently wait to progress far enough in the tech tree to unlock usable firearms for yourself.

The former is the more straightforward, as you’ll unlock Lifmunk’s Submachine Gun relatively early in the game, around level 10 or 12, perhaps sooner if you grind. You can then allow Lifmunk to climb atop your head and use you as a mount while he sprays the area ahead of you.

But if you want firearms of your own, it’s a bit of a wait. You need to hit level 21 before you unlock the Musket, the first old-fashioned gun in the game. After that, every few levels, you’ll receive a new firearm all the way up to an assault rifle and full-blown rocket launcher.

How to Use Guns in Palworld

To use the various guns in Palworld, you must first unlock them in the technology tree like any other item in the game. Then, craft the specific weapon you want to use at a workbench. Each gun requires quite a few resources, so prep ahead of time. But you also need ammunition. That’s another crafting requirement, with a workbench and resources involved, so it’s best to automate as much as possible.

Once you have your gun equipped, use it like you did the bow and arrow in the early game. You aim and fire from a distance but try not to overdo it; otherwise, you risk downing Pals you’d prefer to catch.
