Hogwarts Legacy is filled with wild animals and magical creatures that make the world feel alive as you explore. Of course, there is a way to tame beasts in the game so that you can watch over these creatures yourself and add them to an overall collection.
However, you can’t just run around the map taming beasts without knowing where to look or having the right tools on hand to get the job done. You’ll need a mix of classes and learning to start taming. We’re here to cover which classes you need and how to use these tools for taming in Hogwarts Legacy.
Hogwarts Legacy – How to Tame Beasts
The first step to beast taming in the game is taking the class required within the class. Beasts class is taught by Professor Howin, and it’s the precursor to so many tools. After taking this class, you complete more quests with Deek that allow you to open up a Vivarium in the Room of Requirement.
This Vivarium is essentially your collection for when you tame beasts in Hogwarts Legacy. You’ll need to actually get them there first, though. Along with the Vivarium, Deek’s quests will eventually lead to you getting a Nab Sack. This is the tool you need to catch any creatures as you explore the wilds around Hogwarts.

Any beasts that can be tamed in Hogwarts Legacy will typically hang around dens that are marked on the map. Each one of these dens is marked by a paw print logo, so it’s easy to tell where to look. Check these areas and use the Nab Sack to tame the beasts. Afterward, you can brush them and feed them at the Vivarium.
