To use the slam attack you’ll need to jump in the air and hit the circle/B button while airborne to bring your melee weapon down with an earth-shattering slam. While it doesn’t do a ton of damage on its own, it can be used to stun enemies and push them back to give you some space between.

One thing to note about the slam attack is that it does have a lengthy windup and recovery animation that needs to be taken into account when you’re looking to use it. The slam attack is best used when you’re being swarmed by a lot of smaller enemies and need to create some breathing room in the arena.
