According to the internet, there’s a playtest for Skate 4 right around the corner. But what does that even mean? Is it like, a beta test? Is it open to the general public? Is it online misinformation? How many folks actually care about Skate 4? So many questions and so little time. But I have a few answers, for better or for worse.
Skate 4 Playtest Registration
So, words have different definitions depending on which corporate body is using them. In the case of Electronic Arts, a “playtest” is something like a crowdsourced focus test sort of thing. To put your name in the hat, you need to sign up over at the EA Playtesting website. Once you finish signing up and get your eligibility determined, you’ll be able to fill out applications for various opportunities. Admission to these things varies for all kinds of reasons, from availability to physical location.
For the Skate 4 playtest specifically, it looks like it’ll run on July 5 through July 8, and scuttlebutt suggests it’s a PC-only build. So keep that in mind if you’re trying to apply. Also, invites are already rolling out, so if you’re googling this information you better get moving, buckeroo!
