Meet With Dr. Kryvenko

The quest begins when you visit Dr. Kryvenko in the Cryptobiology Laboratory in the SIRCAA region. He will tell you of a spatial anomaly that has appeared out of nowhere in the laboratory and request you to investigate it.

To get to the anomaly, you will need to head through the ventilation shafts since the entrances are sealed due to the emergency. Go back to where you came from, and turn to your left to find the stairs. Get to the roof and exit the building.

Follow the marker to get to the ventilation shaft entrance across the courtyard. Break the wooden planks blocking the entrance with your knife and head down.

Go Through the Ventilation Shaft

As you go down the ladder, head through the door and down the stairs to the big fan in the middle of the room. You will find a hole in the wall you can go through. Enter it and drop down to the other side. Head to the lower level and carry on straight.

You will now enter the room with rodents down below. Kill the rodents, and head to the other side, where you will find a locked ladder. Shoot the lock with your pistol to drop down the ladder and then climb to the top.

Defeat the Burer

Continue forward to enter a garage where you will face a Burer. It will use psychic powers to control the guns in the area to shoot you. Vurer also has a blue aura around it that shields it from the bullets. You can only damage it when the aura disappears. Take it out and enter the room with a red light above it. You can also completely ignore the fight and head straight towards the room.

Rescue the Scientist (Optional)

Go down the hallway until you hear a scientist screaming for your help to your right. You can ignore the screams of the scientist, but it will be beneficial for you to help him as he will give you keys to a storeroom with loot inside. But you have to beware of the mutants surrounding the scientist. Shoot the mutated creatures before you interact with the scientist.

Head to the upper floor and fight the armed enemies. Keep going forward and open the locked door to your right with the keycard you got from the scientist. Inside, you will find a stash of ammo and other consumable items.

Complete the Obstacle Course

Follow the path until you enter a warehouse with an obstacle course. There will be storage boxes placed in the form of a maze that you can climb on. Jump from one box to the other without falling in the gap between the boxes. At the end of the maze, go through the door on your right to enter the room with a puzzle.

Solve the Puzzle

There is a control panel at the center with red buttons on it. You need to press the red buttons in the correct order to exit the puzzle room and progress further. Here is the proper sequence in which you need to press the red buttons from left to right – 1, 3, 4, 2.

Exit the room from the door behind the control panel and progress towards the next room, where you will be greeted with a slap from an invisible Bloodsucker. It will keep going invisible after attacking you, but only partially. You can still see a distorted figure from a distance. Move aside at the last second when the Bloodsucker lunges at you to dodge its attack. When it is visible, unload your bullets into it to defeat it and progress further.

Close the Three Valves

The next room is filled with toxic gases leaking from the pipes. You need to turn off three valves in the room to stop the leaking. Turn to your right when you enter the room to find the first valve. Turn it off and go straight towards the next valve. For the last valve, head back to the other side of the room and climb the ladder to the top.

Wait for the deactivation to complete and the door to open. Head outside when it opens and turn to your right in the lockers to find an M860 Cracker shotgun, Fora-221 assault rifle, and SSP-99 Ecologist armor.

Keep going forward till you reach the room with the anomaly. Jump inside the spatial anomaly to reach the Abandoned Facility.

Talk to Professor Hermann

Defeat the Zombie Soldiers that attack you when you reach the facility and go straight towards Prof. Hermann. A cutscene will initiate, where the professor will unlock the doors for you. Go through the unlocked door and follow the path underground.

At the end of the hallway, break the lock using your knife to unlock the door. In the room ahead will be a few anomalies. Pass them to reach the professor. Talk to him and jump behind him inside the spatial anomaly.

You will now go through different areas filled with mutants. The areas will last a minute or two before you get taken to the next area. Survive the areas for the time you are there and eventually, you will get to the base.

This will conclude the story quest for “The Forge of Progress” in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl. For more guides on the game, take a look at how to increase inventory space or how to find artifacts in Stalker 2.
