How to Respec in Cyberpunk 2077 2.0

Update your Cyberware for 2.0.

Nearly all of the perks in Cyberpunk 2077 have been overhauled in Update 2.0, and that means your build will feel completely different if you are a returning player. If you want to make the most of the latest changes, you can use a respec, and we can show you how to claim the attribute reset for yourself.

There are two different ways to respec in Cyberpunk 2077. There is a Perk respec and an Attribute respec.

  • A Perk respec allows you to refund your Perk points and place them in other areas, acquiring new abilities.
  • An Attribute respec allows you to reset your stats to its default settings, letting you allocate them into areas you see fit.

How to Respec Attributes in Cyberpunk 2077 2.0

If you have never used a reset before, then there shouldn’t any no issues. With Update 2.0, everyone should have the chance to change or reset their attributes. To respec cyberpunk attributes, follow these steps:

  1. Open up the main menu.
  2. Click on the Character screen.
  3. Look at the bottom left of the Attributes section.
  4. Use the Reset Attributes option at the bottom left of the screen.

You only get one chance to reset your Attributes. After you use the respec option in Cyberpunk 2077, there is no going back, and you’re stuck with your next build. That means knowing what you want ahead of time is important in the build process. But you end up having enough attribute points to max out three trees easily, so don’t stress too much.

There is one additional blocker that can stop you from using the free respec. We use plenty of Cyberware, so removing additional skeletal and hand enhancements was a must. These are unlocked exclusively through the Technical tree and need to be removed at a Ripperdoc before you can reset your attributes.

Along with your character’s attributes, you can respec perks too. And get this, it’s easier than before! If you’re wanting to respec perks, you will have to refund them individually. However, in Cyberpunk 2077, players had to spend 25,000 Eddies on a Tabula e-Rasa shard to refund their perks. We consider 2.0’s way the easiest. You can respec perks as many times as you want unlike attributes. Here’s how to respec perks in Cyberpunk 2077:

  • Open the menu.
  • Go to the Character screen.
  • Navigate to the perk or perks you want to refund.
  • Click on the middle mouse button (Y for XBox, Triangle for Playstation) to reset either a portion of your perks or all in total.
Note:

You might have to unequip some cyberware depending on the perk you are trying to refund.

If you want to be precise before attempting a new build, we highly recommend checking out the official build planner directly from CD Projekt Red. This gives you all the tools you need to see how your build will play out in Cyberpunk 2077 with every available perk or attribute. It’s the best way to ensure your respec doesn’t go to waste.
