How to Release Beasts in Hogwarts Legacy

You have a few options when you rescue beasts and bring them to the Vivarium in the Room of Requirement. You can either keep them in your inventory or allow them to roam freely in your Vivarium. If they’re in your inventory, you can either let them sit there or sell the creatures. However, those in the Vivarium can either live there or return to the wild.

To release beasts back into the wild, you’ll want to head into your Beast Management menu and find the list of active animals and those in your inventory. Place the creature you want to release into your active beast side and select them. You’ll find a beast care section describing the animal and various options at the bottom of your screen. Pick “Return to Wild” to release the beast into the world.

When you choose to return the creature to the wild, you’ll find a pop-up warning that you can’t undo the action. Once you release the beast, they’re gone forever. While you can go back out and get another, it won’t be the same little (or big) animal you originally had.

Releasing Beasts in Your Inventory

Releasing beasts that are currently in your inventory is a very similar process. To do this, head into your Field Guide menu and go to your inventory before selecting the Beasts section. The beast part is characterized by an animal paw symbol that, once you choose it, shows every beast you’ve caught, excluding those in your Vivarium. Hover over any of your beasts and pick “Release Beast” to remove them permanently. Like before, you can’t undo it once you confirm your selection!
