Schedule 1’s base management system is a bit atrocious. Space management is one thing, but picking up and rearranging objects is more of a struggle than anything else. Here’s how to pick up objects in Schedule 1, including some arrangement tips for new players.
How to Rearrange Objects in Schedule 1

To pick up objects, look at the item and hold the right mouse button until you see a circle at the center of your screen. It’ll pick up the item and put it into your inventory. You can use this to rearrange furniture, so you must clean up your inventory to move multiple things quickly.
If picking up objects with the right mouse button doesn’t work, it might be because the object has something on it or you just can’t pick the specific object up.
If you are trying to move the garbage can, you must empty the trash first before picking it up. The same goes for your storage racks, mixing stations, packaging stations, and anything that can hold items. The only thing you can’t pick up so far is the sink. Their positions are fixed when you buy the property.

How to Discard Items in Schedule 1

What happens when you buy furniture but then run out of space?
There’s no easy way to store these items, and you cannot sell them either. The best way to get rid of them is to destroy or discard them completely. To discard an item, pick it up and press “Tab” to open the phone.
Without using the phone, look at the lower-right corner of your screen. Drag items from your inventory to the discard box to discard them. There’s no warning when discarding items, so be careful what you put into the little red box. Once you place an item, you only have a few seconds before it disappears.
How to Conserve Space in Schedule 1

To conserve space, you must save money for a Large Storage Rack instead of having multiple small or medium ones. It is worth it in the early game, especially when you move to the Chinese restaurant. In the motel room, you cannot work with anything yet apart from a few plants and a single Packaging Station.
When you move out to the next area, you can still use your previous area to dump stuff. Since you cannot sell items to recoup some of your money, you might as well use them in rare situations.
For example, if you move to the restaurant, you can keep a few plants in the motel room. This is perfect since you can grow weed in the motel room and source its product specifically for your dealer, Benji, who lives beside your room.
Focus on growing a few high-quality plants using fertilizers or speed growers. This will save you some space while increasing your production.
Avoid buying unnecessary things like an extra bed. Even if you are playing with other friends, you only need one bed to proceed to the next day.
