How to Make the Holy Spear in Backpack Battles

Backpack Battles may seem like it’s all about creating the most meta build possible by abusing the passives and effects of the items you can create. But the Holy Spear isn’t meant to do damage (though it can certainly pack a stab). The Holy Spear allows you to destroy meta builds. That’s because of its ability to Destroy 6 Blocks and 1 Debuff for each free star slot or Holy Item in front of it.

That’s exceptionally powerful, especially if you happen to be running the Sun Armor for the Pyromancer, which turns all starred fire items into Holy. And, fortunately, making the Holy Spear is exceptionally easy. You just have to combine your standard Spear with a Glowing Crown.

Spear + Glowing CrownHoly Spear
Holy SpearDamage: 5-12
Effect: On hit: Destroy 6 Block and cleanse 1 debuff for each Star free slot or Holy item in front of it.
Use 25 Mana: Become invulnerable and attack 100% faster for 3s (once).

Place these two items beside each other, and after one round they’ll fuse. Then, you just have to ensure that you’re either keeping the spaces in front of the Holy Spear’s tip empty (as indicated by the blank stars) or placing Holy Items in front of it. Synergize this with the Sun Armor and you’re in business.

The Glowing Crown likely won’t show up until halfway through your game, unless you have a standard or upgraded Customer Card. But Spears can appear as early as the first round, so grab it or reserve it the moment you see it.

But don’t just lean on your Spear to get all the work done. Gooberts, particularly Rainbow Gooberts, can make or break a run.
