Monster Hunter Wilds is set to launch for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on Feb. 28, 2025 and players can try it out for free in an open beta. Here is how to join the Monster Hunter Wilds open beta.

Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta Dates and Times

The Monster Hunter Wilds open beta will consist of two sessions. The first session will be open only to PlayStation Plus subscribers on PlayStation 5, while the second session will be open to all players across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Here are the times when players can access the open beta:

  • PlayStation Plus Early Access: Monday, Oct. 28, 2024 8:00pm PT – Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2024 7:59pm PT
  • PlayStation 5, Steam, and Xbox Series X|S: Thursday, Oct. 31, 2024 8:00pm PT – Sunday, Nov. 3, 2024 6:59pm PT

How to Join Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta

PlayStation Plus subscribers can download the open beta from the PlayStation store separate from the game’s store page. Store pages for the open beta on Xbox Series X|S and Steam will become available shortly before the second session.

The Monster Hunter Wilds open beta will have the following features:

  • Full hunter and Palico character customization system
  • Intro cutscene and Chatacabra hunt tutorial
  • Doshaguma Hunt
  • Multiplayer via SOS Flare for up to three other players or NPCs

Players who create their characters in the open beta will be able to transfer to the full game on the same account when it is released. No other progress from the beta will be transferred.

Players will also receive rewards for participating in the open beta for use in the full game, including the Stuffed Felyne Teddy Pendant and Open Beta Test Bonus Item Pack. The item pack contains 10 Mega Potions, five Rations, five Lifepowders, five Armor Spheres, two Max Potions, two Herbal Medicines, and two Nulberries.
