Disney Dreamlight Valley launched into early access today! If you’re familiar with the game, you may know that you can create your character using the Avatar Designer Tool. However, depending on where you’re playing the game, it may be slightly confusing at first to figure out how to import your character. How to Import Your Avatar in Disney Dreamlight Valley

The steps for importing your character avatar in Disney Dreamlight Valley will depend on what platform you’re playing on. However, one important announcement for Steam Players is to ensure you do not purchase the game until you find your Avatar code in the Designer Tool. If you buy and launch the game first, you’ll lose access to this code and cannot get it again later.

Below are the steps to get your Avatar code into Disney Dreamlight Valley:

• Head into the Avatar Designer Tool app and create your character
• Press “Show Avatar Code” to generate a randomized string of letters. You’ll have to copy and paste this code into the game, so make sure you keep it somewhere safe until then!
• Head into Disney Dreamlight Valley and select “Avatar Code”. Make sure you do this within 24 hours, so you don’t lose the code!
• Copy-paste your code into the box that appears!

From here, while you can tweak your character a bit in the creation menu, you won’t be able to change your outfit. It’s important to stress that if you’ve already bought and launched the game, you’ll lose access to the character designer tool and your avatar code. You’ll have to create a new character from scratch using fewer customization options than the designer tool offers!

Additionally, there is some unfortunate news for all the PlayStation players out there. As of now, you cannot import your avatar until a future update later this fall. However, once this feature is implemented, you can follow the same steps above to import your character.
