How to Hatch Eggs in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
Before you can begin hatching eggs, you’ll have to get one first! The two main ways to do this are by breeding Pokemon during picnics or trading one with another player. If you obtain your own egg, you’ll have to set up a picnic and get two Pokemon, one male and one female, to start the process. Over time, eggs will appear in a basket for you.
If you don’t want to do that, you can get a friend to breed Pokemon for you. From here, you can head into the Poke Portal and start a Link Trade. That’s exactly what I did to get my Quaxly. More on that later, though.
Now that you have your egg, it’s time to begin hatching! To hatch your egg, you’ll have to place it in one of your party slots and start walking around. When doing this for my aforementioned Quaxly egg, I moved it into my first party slot before running around for about three to four minutes. After some time, the game will interrupt your exercise adventures with a cutscene. Your egg with hatch, rewarding you with a level one Pokemon to take its place.
